Coursework from Psychology Major
Drugs and Behavior
For this assignment, we had to write a review article about a current topic related to psychopharmacology. We started by writing a review article that is meant to highlight a current question in the field, and review the published literature, and offer the author’s viewpoint on the state of research relating to the question. I wrote about the possibility of looking into other treatment options for ADHD symptoms that don't include medications.
Advanced Seminar
Indigenous Approaches to Gender and Sexuality
For this assignment, we had to choose an indigenous group from around the world and write about how gender and sexuality function within that society. I chose to write about Diné identities and how colonialism and religion affected how Navajo culture views gender and sexuality today.
Theory, History, Research in Writing
Public Good, Personal Gain, and the Ethics of Persuasion
For this assignment, we had an option to write an argument about the current problems with public debate, epistemological or ethical concerns about certain rhetorical strategies, etc. with a call to action for what we (depending on your audience) should do about it: Based on the evidence, we have x rhetorical/ethical problem and here’s how we should address/solve it. I chose to write about the controversy concerning abortion rights earlier in 2019.
Applied Writing

Writ 1133: Writing and Research
Title: Jukebox Native in a Contemporary World
This assignment had us write a short essay for an academic audience that uses original research to construct arguments for academic audiences. After we conducted some initial research to identify a specific topic, we created a research question that you will answer through further research. You used our research to craft a 1,500-2,000 word argument-driven research essay. I wrote about the Native American Pow Wow and how it relates to my own identity and lived experiences.
