The Writing Creations of Autumn Raynne
My Personal Favorites
These pieces that are below include some of my favorite works that I wanted to include in my portfolio. Most of them were from my Memoir and Personal Writing, as I had a hard time figuring out which piece I wanted to showcase in my portfolio. Identity is something that is very important to me, and I go into depth with some of these, and I am very proud to share them with all of you! Enjoy!

Coursework for Psychology Major: Diversity of Healing
Cultural Extension Project
In this class, we learned about people’s socio-cultural context influences their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors regarding health and healing. We also discussed topics related to diversity, and this class made a huge impact on me and how I think about identities and intersectionality. For this project we were asked to do research on identities that we hold and create a healing space for those identities. I talked about my indigenous identity and a queer identity (Two-Spirit) that I feel isn't talked about enough.

Memoir and Personal Writing
"Reminisce"
This is a piece that I wrote at the end of the Memoir and Personal Writing course as a revision project. This is one of my favorite pieces because this was one of the first times that I wrote about the very complicated relationship with my mother, and it was cathartic for me to write down some stories that show what it was like to live in a chaotic childhood. This piece is also talked about in more depth on my "Revision and Reflection" page on this portfolio.

Native American Religions
"Standing Rock: A Fight for Justice"
This was a piece that I wrote about for a course that I took called Native American Religions, in which we focused on how Indigenous peoples of the plains view spirituality and religion. In one of the weeks, we were required to watch the documentary "Awake" and talk about what we saw and write a small research piece on what happened and why this was significant for indigenous peoples.
